The closest airport is in Leipzig-Halle (70 km away from Jena). Larger airports are located in Berlin and Frankfurt (300 km away from Jena). Other major airports are Munich and Düsseldorf (400 kms away from Jena).
You can continue your journey by train. For ICE trains, you will usually need to change trains in Erfurt, Weimar, Leipzig, or Göttingen.
Find a suitable connection on the website of the German Railway Company Deutsche Bahn (DB). Jena can also be reached by coach from all major cities in Germany. The bus station is centrally located opposite of the train station „Jena Paradies“.
Jena’s local transport system covers the entire city, so you can get around easily. Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines at almost all stops. However, it is even more convenient to use the Fairtiq app, where you can find connections and purchase tickets directly.
In order to get to the Leibniz-IPHT you can use bus lines 10, 11, 12 to the bus stop „Beutenberg Campus“. From the Beutenberg Campus bus stop, walk approximately 500 m to Leibniz IPHT. Please use the campus map. Leibniz IPHT is building no. 4.
